Practical AI, built on the systems that run your business.

AlfTech is a small engineering consultancy in Vancouver. We build the data platforms, internal tools and AI assistants that operating companies use every day — and we stay on to run them.

Two layers, one team

Every engagement has the same shape as our mark. Underneath is a solid base: the systems that hold your records and keep the business moving. On top is an intelligence layer that reads those records and gives your people answers and next steps. We build both, and we only build the top layer on a base we trust.

The intelligence layer

AI that works from your own data, not the internet's.

Assistants that answer from your records

Ask a question in plain language about a property, a contact or a deal and get an answer grounded in what your database actually says.

Insight and next actions, on a schedule

Reports that read new data as it arrives, notice what changed, and tell your team who to call and what to do this week.

Imagery and field data over time

Drone flight planning, repeatable capture and analysis for sites and assets that need to be watched flight after flight.

The base

The systems your business runs on, kept clean and kept running.

Data platforms

Ingestion from the sources you already pay for, clean and de-duplicated records, and search across all of it.

Custom business tools

Contact databases, analytics, maps and dashboards shaped to how your team actually works, not to a vendor's template.

Systems we keep running

Hosting, upgrades, fixes and small improvements, month after month, from the same people who built them.

One fixed monthly fee, a named engineer, a weekly meeting

Most of the work a business needs from its engineering team is continuous, so we price it that way. You commit to a fixed monthly fee and we commit to the capacity behind it. When something genuinely new is needed, we scope it and price it separately.

Capacity retainer

For the systems you run today
  • One fixed fee each month, with no hours on the invoice.
  • A named engineer who works your systems day to day.
  • Senior direction and architecture from the founder.
  • A standing weekly meeting where priorities get set.
  • A short note each month on what moved, instead of timesheets.
  • Sixty days' notice either way.

No briefs to write, no approvals per task. You tell us what matters on Monday; we get on with it.

Fixed-price builds

For what your systems don't do yet
  • A new platform, product or capability with a clear edge around it.
  • A one-page scope and a fixed price before any work starts.
  • Its own timeline, so it never competes with the day-to-day.
  • Delivered in stages, each one usable on its own.

Reserved for the genuinely large, separable builds. Most improvements happen inside the retainer.

The retainer keeps your systems doing what they do today. A project changes what they do.

Years inside one business, not weeks across many

For the past several years we have been the engineering team for a Vancouver commercial real estate brokerage, building and running the systems its brokers use every day. That depth is the model for every client we take on.

  • A property and contacts database covering the brokerage's whole market, merged from years of separate sources and refreshed as new sale reports arrive.
  • Map, analytics and prospecting tools the brokers open every morning, rebuilt as one platform with a single sign-in.
  • An AI assistant that answers questions from that database in plain language.
  • Drone flight planning with airspace checks, so the same site can be captured the same way every time.
  • A standing Monday meeting, every week, for the life of the engagement.

Who this is for

Owner-led companies that run on real data and have no engineering team of their own: brokerages, property and development firms, field operations, professional services.

If you have spreadsheets nobody trusts, a database nobody can query, or a vendor whose product almost fits, we are probably a good fit.

Multiplex Unlocker

Multiplex feasibility for any BC address, in minutes

British Columbia now allows small-scale multi-unit housing on most residential lots, but working out what a specific lot can hold still takes an afternoon of bylaw reading. Multiplex Unlocker does it from an address: lot size, zoning, frontage and the local rules that apply, returned as a plain answer your client can act on.

Brokerages and developers can offer it to their own clients under their own brand.

Small by design

AlfTech Consulting Inc. is a British Columbia corporation based in Vancouver. We keep the team small so that the people who design your systems are the same people who build and run them, and so that every client gets the founder's attention rather than an account manager's.

Alfred Chen

Founder and principal

Sets the direction and architecture on every engagement and stays hands-on in the code. Alfred has spent his career building data systems for operating businesses, most recently as the long-term engineering lead for a commercial real estate brokerage.

The engineering team

Senior engineers

Each client has a named engineer who knows their systems and handles the day-to-day work: fixes, small improvements and the weekly priorities. Every engineer works directly with Alfred, so nothing is handed down through layers and nothing gets lost between them.

Start with a conversation

Tell us what your business runs on and what you wish it could do. We will tell you honestly whether we are the right fit, usually in a single call, and if we are not we will say who might be.

We take on a small number of clients at a time so that each one gets real attention. If we are at capacity we will tell you when the next opening is.
